From meeting with members of the Black Collective, to discussing the importance of protecting Social Security, and advocating for Servicemembers and their families who are asked to relocate, I continue to deliver on the issues that you care about.

REAL ID Requirements to Fly 

REMINDER: Starting May 7th, anyone traveling by plane or visiting certain federal facilities must use a REAL ID-compliant document.

Visited the Black Collective to discuss minority-owned business development during Trump 2.0. Diverse small businesses are the backbone of this nation – Congress must continue to support them.

Strickland Announces 2025 Congressional Art Competition Winner Grace Kim 

Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) announced Grace Ye Kim as the 2025 Congressional Art Competition winner for the district. “Moments as We Wait” was selected by a panel of jurors and will be displayed in the United States Capitol for one year.

House Unanimously Passes Strickland Military Life Insurance Bill 

The U.S. House of Representatives voted again, to pass the Fairness for Servicemembers and their Families Act of 2025, reintroduced by Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland) and Congressman Keith Self (TX-03). The legislation is bipartisan and bicameral and ensures life insurance packages for servicemembers and veterans account for changes in the economy.

Strickland Leads Bipartisan Letter on Impact Aid and Education Department Cuts 

Congresswoman Strickland sent a letter with 40 of her colleagues to the Department of Education expressing deep concern for the disbursement of Impact Aid. The letter addresses the impact on school districts and how the program fills funding gaps.

Strickland Reintroduces Bill to Help Servicemembers Access Fertility Care 

During National Infertility Awareness Week, Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10), led the reintroduction of the Expanding Access to Fertility Care for Servicemembers and Dependents Act, which would expand TRICARE coverage to make assisted reproductive services, including IVF, available to all active-duty servicemembers (including the Reserve and National Guard) and dependents – regardless of service-connection requirements, sex, gender, sexual orientation, or marital status of the servicemember or their dependent.
