Vietnam Veterans Pin Program

Established in 2008, the United States of America Vietnam War 50th Commemoration Pinning Ceremony is an opportunity for Members of Congress to honor veterans of the Vietnam War for their heroic service and pays tribute to their selfless contributions. Each participating veteran or family member will be honored with a commemorative lapel pin and certificate of special recognition as a token of the nation’s gratitude.

Participation and Timeline

  • The 2023 Vietnam Veteran Pinning Ceremony will be held on Monday, October 16th, 2023 at Lacey City Hall.  
  • If you or someone you know deserves this recognition, please complete the online form below or contact Congresswoman Strickland’s District Office at (360) 459-8514. 

Eligibility

You may be eligible to participate if you fall into one of the following categories:

  1. You served on active duty at any time during the period of November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of location of service.
  2. You are an immediate family member (parent, spouse, sibling, or child) of a former, living American POW from the Vietnam War designated by the Department of Defense.
  3. You are an immediate family member (parent, spouse, sibling, or child) of a veteran who is listed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. and who is not listed as missing or unaccounted for by the Department of Defense.
  4. You are the surviving spouse of a veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period of November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of location of service. 

Please note that you do not have to submit a DD-214 to participate in the ceremony.
