Strickland Supporting Local Ranchers; $850K for Tenino Meat Supply Chain
Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) announced $850,000 in federal funding to improve the City of Tenino’s capacity for meat processing, a major need in the regional market.
Honored Juneteenth
Juneteenth marks the true independence of every American. This holiday is an important reminder to continue to uplift the principles of liberty and justice for all.
South Sound Manufacturing Visit
Visited Nucor, the largest steel producer and recycler in North America, to hear about their role in supporting South Sound infrastructure projects, and how to build even more pipelines to support their local workforce needs.
Celebrating the Completion of New Homes at Joint Base Lewis McChord
Strickland cut the ribbon to celebrate the latest Liberty Military homes at JBLM. By December 2027, Meriweather Landing will be home for over 200 South Sound families.

Strickland Secures Quality of Life Improvements for Servicemembers and their Families
Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, released an official statement after the House Armed Services Committee passed H.R. 8800, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2027 (NDAA).
Other Legislative Updates
- Championed and passed an amendment to rename military bases that previously honored Confederate leaders, to follow the original recommendations made by the Congressionally established naming commission in 2020-2021.
- Voted for the bipartisan, 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, lower housing costs and make the dream of homeownership possible for hardworking Americans.
- Fought against legislation that would give more funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection.
