Lacey, WA – Today, Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) announced over $1,000,000 in federal funding for the construction of the Thurston Fairgrounds Emergency Evacuation & Agricultural Center.
“It is crucial that we maintain the safety of the residents, farmers, and livestock located in our rural areas,” said Strickland. “This funding will ensure that our communities are supported in the event of an emergency.”
The Emergency Evacuation & Agricultural Center will bolster rural resilience and agricultural emergency preparedness in Washington state, particularly for livestock owners in rural Thurston County.
