Lacey, WA —  During National Veterans and Military Families Month, Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) hosted a Vietnam War-era Veterans Pinning Ceremony in Thurston County, recognizing local veterans for their service. During the ceremony, Strickland presented each veteran with a commemorative lapel pin as a token of the nation’s gratitude.

This pinning ceremony is part of a national program recognizing Vietnam-era veterans who served from November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975 in any military branch or station in the U.S., Vietnam, or abroad.

U.S. Representative Marilyn Strickland serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. She is Whip for the Congressional Black Caucus, a member of the New Democrat Coalition, and one of the first Korean-American women elected to Congress.
