Valentines Delivered to Servicemembers in South Korea

For the first time this year, Washington’s 10th Congressional District’s annual Valentines for Veterans and First Responders program expanded overseas to deliver nearly 500 valentines to JBLM soldiers deployed in Korea.
Armed Services YMCA and Joint Base Lewis-McChord Children’s Waiting Room Ribbon Cutting

Congresswoman Strickland joined JBLM and the Armed Services YMCA to cut the ribbon on their new Children’s Waiting Room. This resource will ensures that military families have access to the care they need by providing quality childcare during medical appointments.

Strickland, Conaway, Reintroduce Bill to Award Congressional Gold Medal to Buffalo Soldiers

Congressmembers Strickland (WA-10) and Herb Conaway Jr., M.D. (NJ-03) reintroduced the Buffalo Soldiers Congressional Gold Medal Act of 2025 to honor the Buffalo Soldiers and their tremendous contributions and sacrifice to our country.
Strickland Leads Bipartisan Military Firefighter Compensation Bill

During Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month, Congresswoman Strickland introduced a bipartisan bill to establish a compensation fund for military firefighters exposed to PFAS, alongside U.S. Representative Mike Lawler (NY-17).
Strickland Sends Letter to Defense Health Agency, Concerned for TRICARE West Region Beneficiaries

Congresswoman Strickland sent a letter to the Defense Health Agency expressing concerns about the transition of TRICARE West Region’s contract from Health Net Federal Services (HNFS) to TriWest Healthcare Alliance. After Strickland’s letter was sent, the Department announced that servicemembers would get a second payment update extension, now until February 28.
Other Legislative Action
- Introduced the bipartisan Flight 293 Remembrance Act, to provide overdue recognition and support to families of servicemembers whose lives have been tragically lost in non-combat military plane crashes.
- Introduced the Fairness for Servicemembers and their Families Act, to ensure life insurance packages for servicemembers and veterans account for increases in cost of living and inflation.
- Cosponsored the Prevent Tariff Abuse Act and the Taxpayer Data Protection Act to protect Americans from DOGE and Elon Musk’s unprecedented and unconstitutional actions.
- Joined over 16 letters to stand up to Elon Musk’s policies and actions, which attack the American people.
