Washington D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) released the following statement on her vote against H.R. 8070 Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025 (NDAA):

“For the second year in a row, MAGA extremists have hijacked the NDAA defense policy bill after the Armed Services committee put forth a strong, bipartisan product. This extreme version of the bill puts restoring the military housing allowance, historic servicemember pay raises, and improving military quality of life at risk. I will not allow MAGA extremists to advance their dangerous, ill-conceived, and bigoted agenda.”

U.S. Representative Marilyn Strickland serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. She is whip for the Congressional Black Caucus, a member of the New Democrat Coalition, and one of the first Korean-American women elected to Congress.
