STRICKLAND: CONGRESS MUST SUPPORT ALL AMERICANS

SWORN IN FOR SECOND TERM; STRICKLANDS REMAINS FOCUSED ON DELIVERING FOR THE SOUTH SOUND

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10)was sworn in for her second term as a member of the House of Representatives in the 118th Congress. She is the first Black and Korean American from the Pacific Northwest to serve a second term in Congress. 

“Serving as the South Sound’s voice in Washington, D.C. remains an honor and a privilege to me. As I start my second term, I remain focused on making the South Sound –and the rest of our nation – more safe, more just and more secure,” said Strickland. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to reimagine our economy so  that it works for all Americans.”  

 U.S. Representative Marilyn Strickland serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and is the only African-American woman who serves on the House Armed Services Committee. She is a member of the New Democrat Coalition, is the first Korean-American and African-American elected to represent the Pacific Northwest at the federal level.
