Washington, D.C. – On Friday, February 19, at 8:30 AM PT/ 11:30 AM ET, Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) will join Members of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), and Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) – collectively known as the Tri-Caucus – and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi in holding a press conference to denounce the recent spike in anti-Asian hate crimes and violence. Since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic, there have been over 3,000 reported anti-Asian hate incidents, including the recent murder of an 84-year-old Thai man, Vicha Ratanapakdee, in San Francisco and a 61-year-old Filipino man in New York City whose face was slashed with a knife.
