Washington, D.C. – Last night, Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) joined Kasie Hunt on CNN to discuss the President’s upcoming State of the Union address. During her appearance, Strickland discussed her plans to not attend Trump’s speech:
“I am not going to Trump’s State of the Union address because he is anti-Black. He has taken so many actions during this administration that show he does not care about Black people…this overt anti-Black agenda does not work for me.” said Strickland.
“This President is divisive. You don’t go into U.S. cities and terrorize people. You don’t tell lies. You do not tell lies. And you do not become an anti-Black President who has come after African Americans. That’s divisive. That’s why I’m not going,” Strickland added.
At the table, Strickland also discussed Trump’s record-low approval ratings, his bad economy, how Trump is taking healthcare away from the American people, and his consistent lies to the public.
