Strickland Secures $8 Million for the South Sound

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) announced $8,165,000 in federal funding for 12 South Sound projects that support agricultural communities, improve local pedestrian and traffic safety, boost clean water access, purchase fire engines, and more.

“Despite the challenges we face with the Republican majority in Congress, I am pleased to secure funding for these essential community projects in our district,” said Strickland. “They will boost the local economy, and make the South Sound a cleaner, safer, and more affordable place to live and work.”

Despite the Trump Administration’s proposed dramatic cuts to federal funding and grants programs, Strickland and House Democrats were still able to secure funds in the final appropriations bills to support local economies and job creations, keep communities safe, and bring down the cost of living.
