Opening Sound Transit Stations in South King County –Bringing Light Rail One Step Closer to Tacoma

Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) helped to cut the ribbon at light rail stations in South King County. The new Federal Way Downtown Station (pictured) is one step closer to bringing the vision of light rail from Tacoma to Everett to life – further connecting the South Sound.
Strickland Delivers Over $1M For Thurston County Emergency Preparedness

Congresswoman Strickland announced over $1,000,000 in federal funding for the construction of the Thurston Fairgrounds Emergency Evacuation & Agricultural Center.

Strickland Military Life Insurance Bill Becomes Law

Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland’s (WA-10), Fairness for Servicemembers and Their Families Act of 2025, became law earlier this month. The legislation ensures life insurance packages for servicemembers and veterans will account for changes in the economy. The Senate version of the bill was led by Senator John Cornyn (R-TX).

This month, Congresswoman Strickland released an official statement on her bipartisan Naming Commission for Military Assets amendment.
Strickland Leads 20 Colleagues in Letter to FAA, Demanding Answers to Undistributed Workforce Development Funds

Congresswoman Strickland sent a letter, alongside her colleagues, to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator Bryan Bedford, addressing the FAA’s failure to distribute congressionally appropriated funding through the Aviation Workforce Development Grant Program.

- Joined a letter led by Sen. Patty Murray to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement expressing concern over the conditions at the Northwest ICE Processing Center.
- Alongside Democratic Women’s Caucus members, signed a letter urging the National Women’s Soccer League to uphold their collective bargaining agreement.
- Joined the full Washington delegation on a letter urging the President to approve Governor Bob Ferguson’s request for an expedited Emergency Declaration for the devastating storms and severe flooding hitting the state.
