Dear Friend,
Unfortunately, as of midnight October 1st, we have entered a government shutdown. Far-right extremists refused to negotiate a bipartisan deal that would’ve kept the government open while lowering costs.
I know government shutdowns create uncertainty for the South Sound. Please know I am committed to serving you and your needs and I am actively working to re-open government. My office will remain open, even during the government shutdown, to assist you.
You can find resources for navigating the shutdown by visiting: https://strickland.house.gov/shutdown/

If you need assistance, you can call my District office at (360) 459-8514 or my D.C. Office at (202) 225-9740. For more updates, sign up for my newsletter and follow me on social media.
Far-right extremists have led us into this entirely avoidable government shutdown. I will continue working to re-open the government and deliver for the American people. House Democrats stand ready to get the job done—putting people before politics.
Sincerely,
Marilyn Strickland
Member of Congress
