Washington D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) released the following statement on her vote against H.R. 3838, the Streamlining Procurement for Effective Execution and Delivery and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026 (NDAA), off the House floor:
“In July, the House Armed Services Committee had a long, thoughtful debate and passed, with a 55-2 vote, a bipartisan defense policy bill that will improve military readiness and boost the quality of life for servicemembers and their families.
Yesterday, Speaker Johnson allowed hyper-partisan amendments into the bill that erodes our national security and weakens protections for those who serve.”
Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. She is Whip of the New Democrat Coalition, Secretary of the Congressional Black Caucus, and is one of the first Korean-American women elected to Congress.
