Lakewood, WA – Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) announced $2,500,000 in federal funding for Pierce Transit’s Bus Shelter Modernization project.
“Connecting communities and places of work continues to be critical in the South Sound,” said Strickland. “This project will increase safety and accessibility for our growing transit rider population.”
This project replaces current shelters with new, redesigned shelters that specifically protect against vandalism. This includes equipping new bus shelters with stronger and less breakable glass panels.
This award is one of the 14 FY24 Community Project Funding (CPF) grants Congresswoman Strickland secured. Read more about these projects here: https://strickland.house.gov/media/press-releases/strickland-secures-over-13-million-south-sound
