MY JUNE NEWSLETTER
Dear Friend,
I wanted to update you on my work over the past month and what I have been doing to serve you in the other Washington. From securing funding for over 30 South Sound projects to restoring the military housing allowance, I continue to advocate on your behalf and deliver on the issues that you care about.
I’ve also helped secure over $91,000,000 in federal grants for local communities, non-profits, and Tribal partners and returned over $530,000 to constituents since the start of the year.
Keeping It Local
Since 2021, Congresswoman Strickland has brought back over $42 million for over 30 South Sound projects through the federal Community Project Funding process. The most recent funding will be used to support 14 community projects that will create local jobs, improve public safety, boost public transit accessibility, and build more affordable housing.
Community Project Funding helps make the South Sound a more safe and secure place to live and work.
Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) announced $500,000 in federal funding for the City of University Place to support the Chambers Bay Access Project.
Hunger remains a top issue for families across the nation, especially military families in the South Sound. Strickland joined Emergency Food Network, Food Lifeline, and state Rep. Mari Leavitt and several community partners to discuss their work to address food insecurity.
The group convened at the new Emergency Food Network Warehouse -which the Congresswoman provided $1.5 million in federal funding for the warehouse construction.
