Washington D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) released the following statement on her participation in the bipartisan, Congressional Delegation traveling to Normandy, France:

“Eighty years ago, thousands of brave servicemembers walked directly into conflict to fight for freedom and democracy. I am honored to join this bipartisan Congressional Delegation to commemorate this solemn anniversary, be with D-Day veterans, and remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice on June 6, 1944. As the daughter of a WWII veteran, I have the deepest appreciation for the courageous men and women who served our country in WWII and beyond.”
