Washington D.C. — Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10), a leader in the Pro-Choice Caucus, released a statement following U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk’s decision revoking decades-old government approval for Mifepristone, a key abortion drug.
“Today’s ruling by an extremist, Trump-appointed judge is the latest step in the MAGA plan to unleash an all-out assault on women. Make no mistake, Mifepristone has been safe and effective for over two decades, and the MAGA extremist agenda to control women’s bodies will only create more inequality and put lives in danger.
At the same time the Texas decision was issued, a Washington court reached a different decision. It has never been more imperative to refuse to back down and continue the fight for women’s rights.”
