(Washington, DC) – Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) will join Chairman DeFazio (OR-04), Representatives Blumenauer (OR-03), Larsen (WA-02), Schrader (OR-05), Bonamici (OR-01), and Kilmer (WA-06) in holding a Zoom press conference Tuesday, June 29th, at 10:00 AM PT/ 1:00 PM ET as the House is expected to pass legislation this week that will create good-paying jobs, rebuild roads, bridges, transit, rail, and wastewater and drinking water infrastructure.

The INVEST in America Act package includes several key priorities Strickland secured for WA-10, including $20 million in funding for five local Member-Designated Transportation projects which will directly benefit Washington’s 10th Congressional District. Also included in the package is H.R.2483, the bipartisan Build More Housing Near Transit Act, legislation Strickland introduced with Rep. Scott Peters (CA-52) to encourage the construction of low and middle-income housing in transit-served, walkable locations. Strickland secured inclusion of several amendments to lower transportation fares, and boost access for low-income servicemembers and veterans. Passing this package is a step toward fulfilling many of the key priorities laid out in the American Jobs Plan by President Biden. Learn more about the INVEST in America Act here.
