**MEDIA ADVISORY** Strickland, Schrier to Hold Wildfire Preparedness Event in Bonney Lake

Olympia, WA— Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) and Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) will be holding a wildfire preparedness event today, June 2, 2021 at 3:00 PM PT. The event will be held at Fire Station 111, 18421 Veterans Memorial Dr. E, Bonney Lake. Strickland and Schrier will be joined by local fire departments and representatives from WA Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to talk about evacuation plans and ways to prepare your property to create a defensible space. Washington state has already had more than 200 wildfires in 2021. And the outlook for the summer months is warm and dry. Families and businesses should start preparing now to make sure they are ready if and when a wildfire strikes.
